I simply forgot to clean up left over tea


yeeeew...really gross... hated to clean it later...

Goodbye Xia !!
For how long do I know Xia? Hm... lets see..It seems for as long as I have been in Finland ! After living here for sooo long time, I still dont have many people with whom I can talk "the way I talk"... and tomorrow morning one of the very few will leave Oulu, for Helsinki.

Here is the last fun we did together, 17 May 2008. She made "Qie Jia" ( you read it something like 'Chiye zaa,' yes even though it is written as |"Qie Jia")

Cut egg plants (বেগুন, begoon) into slices, take a slice, slice it again half way, and fill it up with minced meat

Then roll it over spiced up flour paste


and then fry it


Well you need lots of oil to fry it well


Happy Chinese with chopsticks


Thank you Xia for the 'almost' "Qie Jia".
The egg plant shell was really interesting !!

She is gonna leave tomorrow, Friday 30 May to Helsinki. I think I am gonna miss her!!

Hei Xia...Wherever you go, stay safe and healthy and have lots of fun !! :)

Sun dog
I was browsing in my laptop. Saija was listening to music in my room. Atte, Saija's friend called. Atte said, do you have two suns in Oulu? (Atte is from Southern Finland). Saija told me to look at the sky... I looked to my left through the window.. and what the...

I ran to the window... (and on the way broke my favorite candle holder, kicking it)!!
But there were two bright suns on the sky... two suns!!

I tried to take pictures with my camera.. bad luck.. it was out of battery.. i started charging it for a minute and taking a shot and charging again...

With time, the bright spot started to disappear and
a bright rainbow like bar was appearing (see left)


Actually there were three !!
In the center there is the sun..
On the left there is a rainbow like reflection
on the right there is another..but very hard to see in this pic



What actually happened is called "sun dogs"...
Here is a picture taken from internet (wikipedia)

Sundog: It is an atmospheric optical phenomenon primarily associated with the reflection or refraction of sunlight by small ice crystals making up cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. Often, two sun dogs can be seen (one on each side of the sun) simultaneously.




It's not really very common phenomenon. Saija said she had never seen this kinda thing before. I am lucky enough to see it before.. (Check out old post A wonderful evening with sun bars)

Catch the alarm if u can

Every single morning... every single one... I face troubles to wake up. I keep snoozing my phone's alarm for 2 hours until i finally realize that I do need to leave my bed.

I was doing my usual nightly junk browsing... and I found this... looks like I need just this one (if the price was not 55euros I would actually order one right away)



This clocks starts rolling away as soon as the alarm is trigerred !

Clocky will start to run away as soon as its alarm sounds again. He will run around in your room and of course he doesn't stop beeping. If you want him to stop, you'll have to get up :)

I know I have not been posting for long and this should not be a post to start over from the break, but I could not stop myself from posting this geek post.

I just read this... and only software programmers will enjoy this I guess. The rest, please come back later, for the next post or just check around.

As programmers we find users a complete nuence. We work to make our programs 'fool proof' but we can't make them 'user proof' because users do things no fool would ever do. Users are inconsistent, in a hurry, they never read the manual, they always want more features, they don't appreciate the work that we have put in to the program. They want the changes done yesterday. However without them there would be no need to write the program.

Pre Summer
I went outside and I felt, hmmm... it's not cold today. I started walking.. hmm, it's quite warm today. Then I took the jacket off, and hmm...its very comfortable even without jacket... i took a looong breath and ahh... great nice air !! It felt like summer... on the first day of May!

It was saterday, May 3. +22.
I was walking to the bus stop to meet Xia. We were planning to go to the downtown together. She was in complete summer outfit.. and yes, it made a great summer atmosphere around me !

Xia, in summer outfit, and more importantly, in summer mode ;)

I know i m standing like a stupid,
but here I am, with a chochlate bar and the water bottle (like always)

Ring chips
First of all, I dont know why or how, I have lost my interest for blogging for almost a month. I have not carried my camera with me for over a month. I have noticed many events, some funny, some writable, I didnt feel like bring my mobile out of my pocket and take a snap ! I dont know why !! Strange feelings it is !


Anyways, right now eating chips and watching matix(how many times have I seen this !!!) . You know what chips I am eating? Finnish ring chips :D !!

HOT ROD, isnt really hot


There are many chips around, some quite expensive. Most chips here are 2.59euros ( around 250 taka). But so far the best ( or may be 'bestest') chips vote from me will go for "RING CHIPS".

The best chips ever !!

And surprisingly it is the cheapest. Somehow it was getting off the market :(

My mom knew I love it and she used to buy few packs everytime she found it. I used to find them on top the refrigerator.. my midnight snacks !!

Hope you guys, who are in BD, are still enjoying the ring chips :)
I mean, why would you buy pringles or kurkure and export money to some other country while you have so cool chips?
