My first ever pizza !!
Kate's recipe, Shup's filling...
and a great delicious pizza bolognese

As u can expect, things didnt go so well in the first attempt :p
First the dough ran short when i was putting it on the tray !
Then I had to make more..
But the yeast grew well and the bread was quite good :)

and the moon, on the last day before I left the place...

My kitchen

Hey check out the kitchen after we have furnished it!!

Here it is !! The tool is the best !! Perfect height to sit on it while cooking !

Tadaaa... the fully equipped kitchen !!
All sorts of spices, all sorts of coffee !
All softs of baking stuffs !!
(Find out the chicken in the kitchen)

Lets check the drawers !!
First drawer !!
All cut boards !!

Second drawer !! Knives, forks and spoons ( and chop sticks too :D)

Third drawer is the tool-drawer

The bottom closet has the frying pans and all cake baking trays

Finally the table...
Laptop in the kitchen...

Happiness

What do you need to be happy ?
Do you know ?
Do you know a one word answer ?
If one day, extremely impossibly miraculously, you are asked ...
I will give you what you want, tell me, what do you need to be happy ?
(You cannot answer, I want happiness. You have to ask for something.. something exact)

The most popular answer will probably be money !

But....

A blind man will probably cry out, "I want eye-sights... just give me my eye-sights back. I just want to see, nothing else. I will be happy."

A crippled girl will probably smile.. "Can you give my legs back?? Can you make me stand up from this wheel chair ? I will be the happiest girl ever !"

A little boy who has lost his knee by some disease, a little girl who has lost her fingers by some accident, will be the happiest to get the knee or the fingers back.

Hey.. I have everything that could make them happiest !!
Everything !

If they could be happy with what I have, whats wrong with me ??
Why cant I be happy ?

Quite a boring post may be.
But I will be waiting for the day, when I will be able to reply to that opportunity,
"NOTHING...
Thank you. But I need NOTHING to be happier!"

I think every thing will be solved and peaceful in this world,
if I, I can say, I need nothing!
Then you dont have to wait for any miraculous opportunity anymore ever!

and then.. no fight.. never again one more fight or quarrel !!

Eid mubarak

Yesterday night, I was walking to the store in the evening. I was thinking normal day stuffs. Today what am I going to have for dinner, when should I start for the work tomorrow bla bla..
Then I called Nafis vai to check out when is the Eid.

He said, yes, it is tomorrow !

Tomorrow ?
Tomorrow is Eid ??

I had no mental preparation !! There is no loud music anywhere... there is no laughter and joyful chaos anywhere..no crowd... no children running around.. and tomorrow is Eid ??

Well, you cannot get everything in one life I guess :)

Eid Mubarak everyone !!
Today was my third eid abroad..alone.
As a matter of fact, it went quite well !!

The morning started with the snow !!
The first snow that stayed on the ground for a while !!
The first time the road became white by small white flakes !!

Then I put on the new 'fotua' I was saving for the Eid and headed for Asemakatu 5, for the eid gathering!!
Quite a lot of ppl were there !

Different dress codes, different countries, different colors... one Eid

After the prayer, people hugging !

Imam, the leader, is giving away the gifts among the kids

Carpets removed, tables and chairs coming in ...
Ting ting... feast time !!!
Though the food ran short, but how can a Eid day start without food ? :)

I used Murad vai to take a pic of mine !!

The rest of my day was fun too !
After a short working day, I did some shopping.
I had bought a lot of lights and an iron and made my lil home nicer... closer to the way I always wanted it :)
It was fun...

The day ended with Shup's cooking (using my shoppings, but no, he is not my wife :D haha) !!
He cooked absolutely great polao and chicken rejala !!
They were superb !! :)

Not a bad day, ha??

Eid mubarak evry one again !!

Nostalgia

On one roof top of Dhaka city, there was one glass room.
A small room with four walls made of glass...
You can see the starry nights, thunder storms, the rains..

There some friends used to gather and sing !!
Some nights, they were singing the whole night and it was raining outside !

One of the friends was Shuddho. His father wrote a song when he was abroad.
Shuddo gave music, and the song was alive among the friends only.

After about three years, the song is now fully released in album

(The story of the glass house was told by Shup. I have never been there. But as soon as I have heard about it, I knew I have to cherish this in my dream !! May be one day, I will make my glass room on the roof top. I will even make the ceiling of glass :)

The first snow of the year

It was 9:23.
I ran out of my apartment like a bullet,
Coz I was late to wake up !( again ).

I stepped out of the building and what the...

A very very light shower of white flakes !!
So light that you have to concentrate to be sure that they are real !

And it took me a few seconds to realize that it was snowing !!
Wooooo... the first snow of the year !

It lasted less than 60 seconds ! But I was lucky enough to feel the first snow in Oulu :)

Applied for driving license

This is kinda an informative post :)
Skip if you are not interested about driving licenses.

First of all, a shock !! if you want to get a fresh new driving license in Finland, I have heard, it will cost you over one thousand euros ( Almost 1 lakh taka !!!)

If you have a driving license from a country who signed Geneva convention (yes, bd is included), you can drive for one year after entrance in Finland.

After one year, you have six months to apply to exchange it for a Finnish license. You will have to submit your own licenses and when you will leave Fin, you will get it back by returning the Fin license.

Well this exchange thing cost a lot too !!
You need a doctor's certificate, which cost me : 60e
Application fee : 40e
Passport size photo : 8e

Hmm :(

And oh!! I didnt know that, either you have to have a permanent address registered in Magistrate office, or you need to be a student! ( this is not mentioned in the Police web page).

So better bring your own license from home if you come here :)

Fiteness test

Last Friday we had a fitness test arranged by Mikko.
Most employees freaked out ( Well, they had some excuses !! ).
But Michal, me and Mikko went to the new born health club upstairs.
I shouted, I know my health condition is bad now, but I want to see how bad !!

Strange equipments, actually the ball is quite nice.
You are supposed to sit on those and your abs muscles will be used pretty well
without any effort of yours!

First our blood pressure, heart beat, % of fat in the body etc were measured.
Then Mikko was the first one to test his physical condition...

Leg muscle test,
sit making a 90 degree in the knee, stand up,
and lets see how many times you can do without a pause!!
Mikko was in the elite group in this test.. with the max score needed.

Arm muscle test ( the toughest)..
Hold two 10kg weights and lift one hand after another, without any pause.

And count each time you raise a hand !! Go .. Mikko.. Go!!

The last few blows were body-aching!!
Check the commando-face!

Test 3 : Abs test. The legs were held on the floor by Timo.
Raise yourself up and touch your knees.

Almost dead after the back test ( not in pic, coz I had to help in the test)

After Mikko and Michal, I was the last one to go for the tests...
And wohooo I was quite good.
Better than I expected at least.

Hearbeat : fair
Blood pressure : excellent
% of fat in the body : 21 ( It should have been 19)
Legs : Elite (In excellent condition)
Arms : Fair ( need to improve)
Abs : Moderate ( better than fair, recommended to improve)
Back : Elite

Cool.. I thought after having no exercise in last 3 months, I would score an 'alarming' one !

One solitary beginning of the day

I opened my eyes and I smelled the sun !!
I breathed and felt I am lonely !!

It was a bright wonderful autumn morning !!
I wanted to spend some times for me, for myself selfishly

I played with my camera and my pet hakki !!
For each of the pictures you see here, I took average 14 shots

I spent some times by the window...
wondering whether it was the sky or a foamy ocean !!

I observed life around me...
going on, even when my eyes are closed

And I found two fallen leaves...
spending their last few moments together
