I surely have seen lots of spam over instant messaging... mostly they tell something like, hey dude, got some cool pics.. check out here /link/.
Check this bot... apparently "Major"'s account has been compromised and a bot was spamming through that...

This bot was pretty smart !! It first just said "Hey"... surely u are gonna reply to that, if it's coming from a known person!! The bot tried to chat with me several lines, before revealing the link... smart !! It even took pretty decent time to reply (and messenger showed "Major is typing..." for a while before the reply came).
Smart spamming!
