Equinox
Equinox ! It was today ! Probably you never care, but i guess I do, being soooo north !

An equinox in astronomy is that moment in time (not a whole day) when the centre of the Sun can be observed to be directly above the Earth's equator, occurring around March 20 and September 23 each year.
Well, whatever !!

In Oulu today daylight was almost 12hours, almost exactly half !!


Take a note, tomorrow daylight will be over 6 min longer !!!
Hmm, imagine how much will it be at the end of May !
Summer !!!

Baby chili brought my spring
It looks like my chilli plant survived the winter !!!
I am not fully sure, if it can survice totally, coz still some leaves are dying. But there came a nice cute little green baby chili !!!

New born green chili and a dead leaf behind,
I guess it has brought the Spring flavor in my room!

Stain removal
Ops! Just spilled some tea on the shirt ? Or just made a long mark with your pen on your friends back somehow? One Australian university page shows a collection of stain removal techniques.. Pretty handy !!

STAIN
REMOVAL

Introduction

  • Never use very hot water for
    washing stained garments as this often sets the stains
    and makes them very difficult or impossible to remove.


  • Some stains are more easily
    removed by washing if they are soaked first in cold
    water, e.g. mud and blood stains, and the brown stain
    from shoe inner soles.


  • The use of chemicals is required
    for removing certain stains. Carry out this treatment
    before washing. Remove all traces of the chemical.



  • To apply a stain removing agent to
    fabric, place a fold of clean rag underneath the stain so
    that any surplus moisture is absorbed.


  • To prevent a ring forming around
    the stain, work from the outside of the stain, in an
    uneven circular shape, towards the centre, dabbing it
    very lightly with a pad of clean rag which has been
    dipped in the removal agent.








































STAIN REMOVAL
CHART
BLOOD Soak in cold salted water
(1 teaspoonful to 1 pint) for at least an hour. Wash in
warm soapy water.
COCOA/COFFEE/FRUIT
JUICE		 Sponge with a warm
solution of borax and water.


Rinse well and wash according to fabric.
GRASS ( Hmm! one of my jeans was ruined by grass marks on my jeans !)
 Dab with surgical
methylated spirit over an absorbent pad. Wash according
to fabric.

TEST RAYON BEFORE TREATMENT.
INK (BALL-POINT) Dab with methylated spirit
over an absorbent pad. Wash according to fabric.
INK (WRITING) Wash at once. On white
fabric, steep in milk, on any other colour fabric cover
the stain with tomato juice. Wash again.
LIPSTICK Wash in warm soapy water.
Apply grease solvent, if necessary.
SHOE POLISH Sponge with turpentine and
wash according to fabric. If any colour remains sponge
with methylated spirit and wash again.

TEST RAYON BEFORE
TREATMENT.
TEA Rinse immediately with
cold water and wash according to fabric.
For dried stain, damp with cold water and sprinkle with
borax. Pour hot water through the stain. Rinse well and
wash according to fabric.

Art exhibition
I went to some art exhibition today. There was an English guided tour, so I joined there.

It was ok, not bad at all. But I would say, I have seen better!

I asked at the entrance, "Can I take pictures there?" "No".
I asked later the guide, "Can I take pictures WITHOUT FLASH?" "Im afraid No". Hmm !! :(


Well But its not forbidden in the toilet right?

So here I am sharing the art in the toilet of the art exhibition !


I bought this as a souvenir - a funny interesting post card !


A very interesting expression on the face !!! :D



Oh, I forgot to thank Tuomas to inform me about it !

Freeze the time
I have seen this kinda prank before. But this is so far at the largest scale !

207 people froze at the same time !



Someone froze while eating icecream !



What would you think to watch over two hundred people suddenly not moving !!



These are the totally surprised people observing and probably believing time has stopped !

'Happy' eggs
Remember my old post, happy chicken, happy egg?
Well I found some more info about this, every egg comes with a label, printed on it. I have heard this number actually means something !

3FI = caged chicken in Finland

If it starts with 3, means the chicken are just for production, spend their entire life in a cage, 1 are free chickens, they can 'play' whenever however they want !

I even found some eggs whose number start with 0 !! ( Maybe those chickens enjoy free tv with horror movie like - "behind KFC!")

Of course, the cost varies :)

This is March 2008.
In March 1971, Bangladesh declared its independence!
March 26, 1971... Independence day of Bangladesh !




Now, we walk in our country without any fear ( do we ??)
Now, we are not ruled by some hungry leaders (aren't we?)
Now, we having nothing to worry about the country, our dream came true !! (did it?)


It's March.
With full honor to the people who died, fought, suffered and even dreamt for an independent Bangladesh, I wish this country will tear off the third world country label soon !
